Registered Dental Hygienist

Joselyn Shen, RDH, is a compassionate and dedicated dental hygienist who brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every visit. A graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA), Joselyn was inspired to enter the dental field after experiencing orthodontic treatment firsthand and falling in love with the process and its transformative results. Since beginning her professional journey in 2022, she has been committed to helping her patients achieve the same satisfaction and confidence in their oral health.

At the core of Joselyn’s care philosophy is connection. She prioritizes understanding her patients’ concerns and creating a warm, welcoming environment with an emphasis on preventative care. Through casual conversations and frequent check-ins, she ensures that each patient feels heard, respected, and at ease in the dental chair. Joselyn is also trained in laser bacterial reduction, a valuable adjunctive tool that supports better preventative outcomes.

Joselyn finds great joy in seeing the positive impact her work has on her patients’ oral health and overall confidence. She loves being a part of the Health Centered Dentistry team, where a balance of fun and professionalism fosters a supportive workplace dedicated to continuous improvement in both staff development and patient care.

Outside the office, Joselyn enjoys staying active at the gym, exploring Alaska’s year-round outdoor adventures, and spending time with her dog, Oreo. A former dancer and current gaming enthusiast, she’s always up for a good laugh and values quality time with friends. You might catch her rewatching Friends, dreaming of snowboarding tricks, or planning her bucket-list trip to Greece.

Fun Fact: Joselyn danced from age 4 through high school and still channels that same rhythm and energy into her work today.

Favorite Local Spots: Glacier Brewhouse and Moose’s Tooth, depending on the mood!

Go-To Comfort Food: Pasta or a homemade cheeseburger.

If she weren’t a hygienist: She’d still be helping others—likely in another area of the medical field.
