Dr. Kent Marchant is full of excitement for all things dental!
Dr. Kent Marchant continually encourages the team to stay curious about dentistry and new technology. Under his leadership, same-day dentistry (CEREC) in our practice has taken off! It has also given him the opportunity to train other dentists on CEREC’s benefits to the patient and the office. We recently asked Melanie, his beautiful wife, to answer a few questions to help us get to know him better.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your career?
A: From my perspective, I think he really likes taking someone that has been afraid of the dentist and making them enjoy it. He loves the advancement in technology. He loves implants and CEREC crowns. He just loves his job.
Q: What motivates you to work hard?
A: I think he gets his work ethic from his dad. He was always taught to work.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: His family and the fact that he got his family to Alaska.
Q: Who is your hero?
A: His dad, his brothers and the Savior.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: Hunting and watching dental videos for hours on end.
Q: What do you do to stay healthy?
A: Wrestling with his boys.
Q: What’s your favorite family tradition?
A: Christmas Eve Pajamas
Q: What is your favorite book to read?
A: He doesn’t read books much, but he does read A LOT of dental research journals about technology and helping patients with that technology.
Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Properly aged rib-eye steak
Q: What song would you say best sums you up?
A: “Oh, Lord, It’s Hard to Be Humble” by Mac Davis
Q: On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are?
A: Per Melanie, “He would definitely say 10. He thinks he is so very funny! He laughs at everything he says. And he is constantly telling me how that whole office thinks he is hilarious. Ha! I say more like a 6. He is more obnoxious than funny. But he tells me I don’t have a sense of humor. So…” –> We think that definitely makes him a 10!
