Meet Kathleen Sopp, RDH
Introducing Kathleen, Sopp, RDH!
Kathleen Sopp, RDH, has been such a delight to work with ever since she started as a hygienist with Health Centered Dentistry in 2013! She has proven herself a leader amongst her peers through her drive to positively improve – not only herself but her surroundings, too. She is a problem solver and a friend to all those she meets. We are blessed to have her on our team!
We asked Kathleen a few questions to learn more about her and her family.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your career? A: My favorite thing about my career is the people. As a dental hygienist, I not only get to help people achieve and maintain healthier smiles and bodies, but I really get to know so many of my patients as friends. I love being able to support them not only in health but also being able to be a part of their dreams, achievements and life trials.
Q: What motivates you to work hard? A: I work hard because I always want to do my best for my patients, my team and myself. I love working for Health Centered Dentistry because the standard is so high. I am always supported in my efforts to be able to provide the best care and latest knowledge.
Q: What is your proudest accomplishment?
A: My proudest accomplishment is my two daughters, Makena and Maddie. I feel so blessed that God allowed me to bring them into the world and raise them to be the best they can be. They make me a better person and the world a better place.
Q: Who is your hero? A: My late mother is my hero. She raised five kids with my dad working on the slopes and away from home most of our childhood. She never complained about how hard life was but focused on our blessings. She was strong, funny, and walked through life with grace and class.
Q: What are your hobbies? A: I love spending time with friends and family. I am happiest when I am being active, especially if it includes family and/or friends. My favorite sports would be biking, hiking, golfing and playing in the snow. I also love to travel. A perfect day would be spending time with friends and family while doing something active in a place I have never been before.
Q: What do you do to stay healthy? A: To stay healthy I take great care of my teeth, eat healthy most of the time, exercise frequently and surround myself with positive people who make me laugh often.
Q: What’s your favorite family/holiday tradition? A: My favorite family tradition is a family trip we take with the grandparents every other year to Hawai’i for a couple weeks. I love having us all together. I feel like I get to really spend time and enjoy them when we are away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.
Q: What is your favorite book to read? A: I don’t really have a favorite book to read. I rarely re-read a book, even if I enjoy it. There are just too many good books out there. I recently read, “Eyes Wide Open,” by Isaac Lidsky and really enjoyed it. I am currently reading, “Wild,” by Cheryl Strayed and I am enjoying it thus far.
Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? A: If I could only eat one meal for the rest of my life, it would either be turkey tacos or the house salad with blackened chicken from Moose’s Tooth.
Q: What song would you say best sums you up? A: I think the song, “I Hope You Dance,” by Lee Ann Womack best sums up how I try to approach life and the message I want to give my daughters about life.
Q: What is your favorite joke? A: I don’t have a favorite joke. I am more of a wit girl and find it easier to come up with funny comments on the fly. I do not have a gift for telling jokes.
