HCD Headlines

June 8, 2020

Welcome to a new week at HCD! We usually have to wait until a Thursday team meeting before we can discuss concerns, reminders, or other topics that need to be addressed sooner rather than later. That is what this newsletter will be for. A copy will be printed in the break room and an electronic version will be emailed to you. Please let me know if you have something you'd like to add to this weekly update.

Thank you! ~Rachael

Our lovely Lori has had shoulder surgery and is working on recovery right now. We hope it goes smoothly, quickly, and leads to 100% recovery. We miss you, Lori!

We've had some changes at the front desk since Faye retired in May. Toni is now Dr. Henrie's scheduler, Leah is Dr. Marchant's scheduler, Kolina is handling insurance claims, and Bianka continues to handle hygiene schedules. We will discuss these changes in more detail at our upcoming team meeting.

The surgical caps look amazing! To make sure we're all on the same page, at this time surgical caps are not required by OSHA or HCD for treatment. Clinicians are welcome to wear them.

Please note the caps cannot be worn outside of the practice once you've used them. Per OSHA regulations, they must be placed in a separate bag to take to your home and washed separately.

Although the practice will be closed this Thursday, we will still have a team meeting starting at 8AM. We will use the time to talk about where we are now, how we move forward as a team, reviewing our personal DISC profiles, games, spring cleaning... lots of fun stuff to go through! Please plan on being here from 8AM-12PM. We will provide lunch. Casual dress is welcome.

Please complete your DISC profile HERE. Bring it with you so we can discuss our profiles as a team.

Please keep an eye out for x-ray frequency when it comes to comprehensive exams. The code for bitewings is sent to insurance when a comp exam is done. If the patient has done their BWs within timeline of the frequency policy, the BWs will be denied.

Colonial Life Benefits are now being coordinated under a new broker. Frank Bailey at 907.947.3109 will be our new contact for policy and benefit questions regarding Colonial Life. His team will be here at the team meeting to discuss the current policies available.
